FreshRx for MOMs is a produce prescription program for expectant mothers enrolled in Medicaid. FreshRx provides participants who meet eligibility requirements $24 in tokens to purchase locally-grown, fresh produce weekly for up to 40 weeks at the Lexington Farmers’ Market.
Eligibility Criteria for FreshRx for MOMs participants include:
- Currently pregnant (up to 32 weeks)
- Currently enrolled in Medicaid
- Attending regular visits with a physician or midwife (telemedicine visits acceptable)

In addition to the weekly funds, participants gain access to a Registered Dietitian, cooking demos, and helpful tips!
The program is funded by a USDA GusNIP grant, and is currently offered at Lexington Farmers Market and multiple other markets throughout the state.
